Justin
Lloyd Finishes Second at Lowe's Motor Speedway Summer Shootout
MOORESVILLE, N.C. –
July 24th, 2007
Justin Lloyd, after a frustrating
Lowe’s Motor Speedway Summer Shootout season, returned to the
success he got used to, finishing second in the Pull-A-Part
Legends Semi-Pro class Tuesday night.
“The race was
good,” said Lloyd after the race. “I had a good car. The
Tiger Tom Pistone, A&J Motorsports car ran real well for the
heat race. I was able to take home the victory in the heat race,
which put me in a good starting position for the main.”
Lloyd’s good starting position
had him in the middle of a race for the lead the entire event,
chasing the first and second place cars closely for nearly half
the race. “We went caution free, which was good. I was able to
get up to third place to race with Parker Hammons #24 and J. R.
Allen #01, so I was real happy with the car I had.”
The battle with Allen and Hammons
continued until Hammons and Allen tangled in the fourth turn,
allowing Lloyd around into the lead. He held the lead for a
couple of laps until “the carburetor didn’t respond as well
as I’d hoped” dropping him to second at the finish.
“I’ll take second place. I’m thrilled to have second
place.”
The runner-up finish is the best
for Lloyd since “we had a win just before the shootout at
Concord. Hopefully next week will be even better.”
Lloyd’s next planned race is
Tuesday night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, in the ninth of ten
Summer Shootout events.
