Justin
Lloyd Gets Best Finish Yet At Lowe's Motor Speedway Summer Shootout
MOORESVILLE, N.C. –
July 17th, 2007
Justin Lloyd, driving his No. 43
A&J Motorsports Legends Car, worked through the field in
both the heat race and his feature race Tuesday night at
Lowe’s Motor Speedway’s Summer Shootout to get his best
finish yet.
Following a series of
disappointments, including a blown engine in the previous
week’s races, Lloyd turned things around with solid drives to
good finishes.
The Mooresville teen commented
that: “in the heat race we started ninth and ended up working
through the field.” Good driving in heavy traffic helped Lloyd
move up to a podium finish in his heat. “We had a pretty good
car and ended up finishing third,” he reported, “which put
us starting twelfth in the main, which was a little bit better
starting position than we’ve had in the past.”
In the feature race for the
Semi-Pro class, Lloyd used his starting position to advantage
and “avoid some of the wrecks.” On the restarts, when racers
can pick whether to go inside or outside, “we got to pick up a
couple of spots here and there on the ‘choose’ by going to
the high line on the restarts,” he explained, “so we ended
up getting sixth, which I believe is our best finish yet in the
Summer Shootout.”
With only three more weeks left
in the Shootout season, Justin hopes that he will “continue
that streak and come back next week with some momentum and
improve on that.”
Justin Lloyd is being helped in
his career by training from Future Stars in Racing Academy. The
